A home away from home for people of Enugu State, Nigeria heritage across Glasgow — connecting our community through culture, welfare and mutual support, while building a lasting bridge between Scotland and the Coal City State.
Enugu Community in Glasgow (ECG) is a Scottish charity that unites people of Enugu State, Nigeria heritage living across Glasgow and the surrounding region. Formally constituted on 5 May 2025 and governed for the public benefit under the oversight of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), ECG exists to foster unity, preserve cultural identity, and extend mutual support among its members — while strengthening the bond between our adopted home in Scotland and our roots in Enugu State, Nigeria.
Membership is open to anyone aged 16 and above connected to Enugu State by birth, marriage, naturalisation, association, or adoption. We are led by a Board of Trustees of up to nine members and a Management Committee of fourteen elected officers who run the community’s day-to-day affairs, with office bearers elected every three years at our Annual General Meeting.
