Six charitable purposes brought to life through culture, welfare, education and partnership.
ECG's work is anchored in six charitable purposes that guide every programme, event and outreach effort we run.
We work to tackle discrimination and champion fair access to employment, education, healthcare and housing for our members and the wider community, ensuring every voice within Ndi Enugu is heard and valued.
We encourage civic participation and volunteering, helping members engage confidently with life in Scotland while contributing positively to Glasgow's wider civic and voluntary landscape.
We provide welfare support to members facing age, ill-health, disability or financial difficulty — because a strong community looks after its own, especially in moments of need.
We advance education through skills development, training and capacity-building, opening doors for members of all ages to grow personally and professionally.
We keep our traditions alive through festivals such as the New Yam Festival, language classes and traditional dance, ensuring the next generation grows up proud of where they come from.
We raise awareness of legal rights, child protection and domestic abuse prevention, and work to advance human rights and safety within our community and beyond.
New Yam Festival
These six purposes are brought to life through cultural celebrations such as the New Yam Festival, welfare outreach to members in need, educational and skills workshops, and active partnerships with other charities, voluntary organisations, and public bodies across Glasgow.
Everything is funded transparently through member contributions, donations and grants, and safeguarded by strict financial controls, including dual-signatory approval on every payment.
We don't work in isolation. ECG actively partners with other charities, voluntary organisations, and public bodies to widen our impact and represent the Enugu diaspora within Scotland's civic life.
